The new California law protects the safety and health of workers beacuse the state wants avoid accidents in workplaces.

The major program of law is Cal / OSHA.

DUTIES OF EMPLOYER:
  • Employers must provide safe workplaces and healthy Employers must create a prevention program against diseases and injuries
Employees should be trained about the dangers of each task

THE EMPLEYERS CAN’T:

Allow that an employee makes task that aren’t in law

Allow that an employee is exposed to dagerous without protection

EMPLOYEES HAVE CERTAIN RIGHTS IN WORKPLACE SAFETY AND HEALT:

Any employee has the right to refuse to perform work that would violate a Cal/OSHA law.

EMPLOYEES ALSO HAVE RESPONSABILITIES:

While working, the employee must always obey state job safety and health laws.

HELP IS AVAILABLE:

Employers who use any substance listed as a hazardous substance in section 339 of little 8 of the California Code of Regulations, or subjet of Federal Hazard Communications Standard.

Employers shall make available on a timely and reasonable basis a Material Safety Data Sheet on each hazardous substance in the workplace upon request of an employee, an employee collective bargaining representative, or an employee’s physician.

Employee has the right to see and copy their medical records and records of exposure to potentially toxic materials or harmful physical agents.
